From one store to an integrated portfolio

Beginning with just one store at Yonge and Dundas Square in 1986, our founder moved to Canada with a vision for an integrated portfolio of companies, strategically poised to ensure success for generations.

JDass began in the retail business with the opening of five retail stores in Downtown Toronto in the 1980s. Today the portfolio spans real estate and land development, steel and metal products, hospitality, retail, imports and financial ventures.

We build winning investments in real estate, construction, retail, and hospitality.

Timeline / Signal history

The road so far

1986

First retail store opens at Yonge and Dundas Square in Downtown Toronto. Five retail stores follow in Downtown Toronto through the 1980s.

Nearly 40 years of metals

Dass Metal Products grows into a full line metal fabrication and steel business, trusted veterans of the construction and development industry, today anchored by a 300,000 sf Steel Service Centre.

25+ years of hospitality

The hospitality division grows by acquiring and building hotels, event spaces and restaurants throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including the Mississauga Convention Centre and Shanty Bay Golf Club.

Today

An integrated portfolio across six industries, with substantial land holdings in the Greater Toronto Area and many projects on the horizon.
